Card Swap Love
Saturday, May 30, 2009
Guess what? I officially love the card swap. I didn't realize at first that I would be receiving all these fun packages in the mail. I know they're not all for me but it doesn't matter, I still get to open all of them! A few folks from the yahoo group were a little late out of the gate so I'm extending the deadline until next weekend. If you're still interested and haven't done so yet, contact me at paperdaystudio(at)gmail.com and I'll email you the address. For ALL the details click here and also here. Cheers to you. I hope your Saturday included a fun surprise too.

Monday, May 18, 2009
Yay! The savegocco.com site is live and I'm honored to be featuring Jill Bliss as the first home page artist/print. It still needs some tweaking here and there but it's now open to the world. Take a looksie.
Gocco Fix from 60 bugs
Sunday, May 17, 2009
I'm not much of a routine person. Of note is the recent switch from "Gocco daily fix" to just plain "Gocco fix." The word daily doesn't fit into my vocabulary well- but there is one thing I do every day: make myself a cappucino. Heavy on the foam. Some days...I make two. This cup cozy by 60bugs would look lovely around my favorite not-a-paper cup, cup. I love the title too: Fill 'er up! It's the little things...
Notice anything?
Hello...ahem, notice anything? I've been busy over the past few weeks playing catch-up in my blogging e-class. Holly Becker over at decor8 taught this 4 week class.
Part of the homework was to break into groups and critique each others' blogs. As a result, I have: updated my banner, added a third column, added badges and links to my flickr/facebook/twitter accounts, added labels, and a blogroll. Umm, I kinda half-assed the blogroll so far. I was spent, and it's the wrong font but I'm getting there. The image in my banner is from the pic I took above. Kinda fun to see it up there. More to follow.
Card Swap Deets
Monday, May 11, 2009
Sorry for the one-day delay, folks. I got so carried away whooping it up on Mother's Day that I forgot to give everyone the details about the card swap yesterday. So...this is the plan. If you are interested in participating, please send your 5 cards to me (I'll email my address separately.) I will then divvy them up and send you 5 very special cards from friends around the world. They can be: birthday, thank you, hello, blank, etc. anything that's not too occasion-specific like Christmas or Valentine's day. If you'd like, you can include 5 business cards or notes about your cards, it's totally up to you. I love to hear little personal stories like that but don't put yourself out if it's too much trouble. Please include the same number of stamps on the inside of your envelope as you put on the outside of it. That way I won't get stuck with all the postage. If you're international, please still include the stamps (I love foreign ones) but i'll use our lovely forever flag stamps back at ya. For envelopes, I'll either re-use your original or donate some spiffy ones I have up in the paper room. Yes, when you retire from Paper Source after a few years of warehouse sales, you do have a paper room. Jealous?
If you do not receive an email from me today, and you would like to be a part of the swap, please email me at: paperdaystudio@gmail.com. I'll start the divvying June 1st, so please have your cards to me by then. The more the merrier. Can't wait to see them!
Gocco Giveaway
Thursday, May 7, 2009
How fun, cutiepie company is hosting a giveaway on her blog. All you have to do is visit her etsy shop and leave a comment in the blog post with your favorite item and you can win this sweet tennis gift set. I picked: the Golden Girl moleskin, Mojito and Pink Lemonade cards, and the Snowday print. The giveaway is my favorite type of promotion. Even when I don't win, it makes me happy to think of the lucky gal (or guy) who gets the bootie. Good luck.
Screen Cleaning Party
Tuesday, May 5, 2009
On tonight's to-do list: cleaning screens. If someone decides to produce new and improved supplies, I ask one thing of you: please make these things dishwasher safe. Man, I hate cleaning screens. Tonight, I decided to make the best of it and poured myself a (few) glass(es) of prosecco, pumped up the i-tunes, used about a half-roll of paper towels (sorry trees but at least I use the recycyled ones) and had a cleaning party. My soundtrack started out with MC Solar (because I love anything french)--backed-up with a little Nelly Furtado (because I started to want to understand the words) It was actually kindof fun. Eight clean screens. Check!
Fun with Google!
Monday, May 4, 2009
This is not just directed at fellow bloggers but I'm sure you 'gers will appreciate the fun I have each day with Google Analytics and Google Alerts. This might sound crazy-narcissistic but I have a google alert out for myself, as well as anything Gocco, of course. What I have learned about myself is that I am either really good at sports or I am dead--fortunately and unfortunately. Every Katie Stephenson alert is either an obituary or some kind of sports update--softball and whatnot. Of course, I only have that alert so that I will know when someone mentions me or my blog. The Gocco alert is how I keep fresh and up-to-date in the print Gocco world. I get up-to-the-minute updates whenever anyone types the word Gocco and hits "publish." Pretty cool this internet thing. Probably my favorite of all things Google are the keyword notifications in the analytics program. I've learned an awful lot about what you people are searching before you come to me. Someone out there is fervently researching the "Gocco patent" Go, Go--whoever you are! Someone else wants to "save the gocco, please" loved that one-so polite, you are! Probably the oddest one I've seen was the "hard core p*rno u-tube" note. Ehwww. No clue how that one came to me. I hope he (or she) was not disappointed once here. Sorry, I did not want to type the whole word in fear that even more strange traffic would come my way. People seem very interested in the Yudu as a replacement for Gocco, and I also get a lot of traffic to the G.E. #5 Flash bulbs info page and the Gocco pricing info page. Innneresting. What a great tool. If you are a blogger and are not signed up for an analytics program, please do so now. If you use the Google version, it's free! Such a wealth of knowledge, it can't be beat.
