Gocco Fix from Dwell Deep

Sunday, February 7, 2010

This post is about a week past-due as I stuck this darling fox image on the Save Gocco website last Sunday. I need 3 little elves named: Viva, La, and Gocco to come help me stay updated with posts. Until that happens, you'll have to bear with me. Anyhoo..enough nonsense, let's get to the goodness. Get out of town with these Gocco prints by Dwell Deep! Said foxes are a Valentine limited edition. They're so in luff. In real life, I'm scared of foxes but these guys make me a tad less fearful. I really want the moustached sailor for my porch, which is about -20 right now but come spring, he is going to be mine. Read all about Dwell Deep on Save Gocco here. If you'd like to purchase any of these prints, visit the Dwell Deep Etsy shop riiiiiiigh: here. Cheers!

gocco printed curtains

Friday, January 22, 2010

How sweet. Ellen from the long thread enlisted the help of her 5-year-old daughter to help with these Gocco printed cotton curtains. The image was drawn (by said 5-y-o) with a carbon marker and white ink was used for a charming tone-on-tone effect. Darling.

New Featured Artist on Save Gocco Website: Maraid

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

So, you might recognize this name from the previous post. Maraid is Jane McDevitt. She's on my radar. I was "had"at "Skating Chimp" but then "Ampersand" sealed the deal. The ampersand is my absolute favorite bit of type, and I love the pretty lace and swell color combo. This gal's going places. She has an Etsy shop featuring this and other sweet Gocco prints. When she's not printing with Gocco she designs websites freelance, style.

Hope Your Christmas was as Good as Brussels Sprouts

Sunday, December 27, 2009

...and if you are Sarah Jane Coleman of Inky Mole Illustration, that would be a very good thing. These are the Christmas cards she made this year and her vegetable of choice (said brussels sprout) is front-and-center. Cheers to you, Sarah. I'm sure you made all your friends and family smirk a little this year.

Recycled Gocco Bulb Ornaments

Monday, December 21, 2009

Marlene Watson of Northwoods Studios offered me this image of her recycled Gocco bulbs. She creates these adorable Christmas and Easter ornaments in crafty classes she instructs. When I learned to Gocco, the teacher showed us how to crush the still-warm bulbs in bare hands. If you think that's scary, I've heard another printer claim to crunch them in his teeth, yikes! What do you do with your spent lamps?

I've seen Schmuttergold's cards here and there on Flickr and Etsy and they always make me chuckle. Their motto is: "Good Jewish Design." Along with their spunky-sayings, they also offer beautiful typography hand-lettered and illustrated designs in their website and Etsy shop. This spin me round card is offered at $3.50. Mazel tov!
